The Visual Sound GarageTone Drivetrain Overdrive is a highly regarded, budget-friendly guitar effects pedal originally released in 2010. It is an updated re-release of the legendary Reverend Drivetrain II circuit, which was originally co-designed by Bob Weil (founder of Visual Sound, now TrueTone) and Joe Naylor of Reverend Guitars in 2000.
Key Features and Specifications
- Circuit Design: A modified Tube Screamer-style circuit that offers a more transparent overdrive, a smoother dynamic response, and an open top-end.
- 4-Knob Layout: It features dedicated controls for Drive, Volume, Treble, and Bass.
- Two-Band EQ: Unlike standard Tube Screamers that feature a single tone knob, the separate Treble and Bass controls allow you to retain or boost your low-end frequencies.
- Enclosure & Build: Housed in a dark green metallic, heavy-duty 18-gauge steel enclosure with circuit protection.
- Power Requirement: Runs on a standard 9V DC power supply (negative center) or a 9V battery.
