This is the perfect Preamp pedal. The "Crackle Okay" volume knob is a negative-feedback control styled after classic 60s recording console inputs. (They cracked when adjusted too). Most vintage guitars suffer from steadily deteriorating magnets, in their pickups, since permanent magnets arent really forever. The Super Hard On input impedancce is so high  (>5 Meg) that it reefuses any current flow form your pickup mantaining the most mgnetic field around each string, so you can hear exaclty what your pickups sounded like the day it came of the winder.
